Switched Current Sigma-Delta Modulator with a New Comparator Structure Designed Based on VHDL-AMS Description

    Get PDF
The paper presents a VHDL-AMS based approach to the Switched-Current (SI) Sigma-Delta Modulator design. The prototype VHDL-AMS description, with the help of elaborated EDA tools, is automatically translated into the SI realization. Another tool helps the designer to create the layout. The paper also describes a new current mode comparator, which is used in the design. Postlayout simulation results are presented

Public Field Trial of a Multi-RAT (60 GHz 5G/LTE/WiFi) Mobile Network

A public field trial showcasing an operational multi-Radio Access Technology (RAT) mobile network that was implemented in one of the largest shopping mall in Warsaw, Poland. The network supports novel 60 GHz 5G mobile access as well as legacy LTE and WiFi services All mobile access services of the network are interconnected via optical fiber to the data centers of a mobile network operator and an internet service provider. Fronthauling for the 60 GHz 5G hotspot radio access unit (RAU) and for LTE is realized by analog Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) via a fiber-optic distributed antenna system (DAS). The 60 GHz 5G radio access units (RAUs) for the enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) use case and the WiFi access point (AP) are both backhauled via optical Gigabit Ethernet. The 60 GHz RAUs for the eMBB and hotspot use case feature 2D beam-switching and 1D beam-steering, respectively. Inter-RAT switching between the different mobile services with seamless user experience is achieved using a Mobile IP system with Fast Initial Link Setup (FILS)

Objective. Little is known about lead toxic effects on lung tissue. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to estimate the values of selected parameters related to oxidative stress in the lung of rats exposed to lead acetate. Material and methods. Twenty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups: control (n=10) and lead-treated (n=10). The lead-treated group was fed with regular rat chow and distilled water supplemented with lead acetate (1200 ppm) for 7 days. In lung homogenates, the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD, CuZn-SOD, Mn-SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione reductase (GR), and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) were determined. Results. The activity of catalase was significantly higher in the lung of lead-treated rats than in controls by 98%. Similarly, the activities of GPx and GR were higher by 57% and 45%, respectively. The level of MDA was also higher in lead-exposed rats than in the control group by 52%. The remaining parameters did not differ between the studied groups. Conclusions. Lead exposure stimulates antioxidant defense mechanisms in rat lung; however, these mechanisms are insufficient to prevent lead-induced oxidative stress developmentWst臋p. Toksyczny wp艂yw o艂owiu na tkank臋 p艂ucn膮 jest s艂abo poznany. Materia艂 i metody. Dwadzie艣cia szczur贸w szczepu Wistar, podzielono na dwie grupy: kontroln膮 (n=10) i badan膮 z podawanym o艂owiem (n=10). Szczury z grupy badanej by艂y regularnie karmione granulatem dla szczur贸w i pojone wod膮 destylowan膮 z octanem o艂owiu (1200 ppm) przez 7 dni. W homogenatach z tanki p艂ucnej oznaczany by艂 poziom malonylodialdehydu (MDA) i aktywno艣膰 dysmutazy ponadtlenkowej (SOD, CuZn-SOD, Mn-SOD), katalazy (CAT), peroksydazy glutationowej (GPx), reduktazy glutationowej (GR), oraz transferazy glutationowej (GST). Wyniki. Aktywno艣膰 katalazy by艂a o 98% wy偶sza w grupie badanej ani偶eli w grupie kontrolnej. Podobnie, aktywno艣ci GPx i GR by艂y wy偶sze odpowiednio o 57% i 45%. Poziom MDA by艂 r贸wnie偶 wy偶szy w grupie badanej, o 52% w por贸wnaniu do grupy kontrolnej. Pozosta艂e parametry nie r贸偶ni艂y si臋 pomi臋dzy grupami. Wnioski.
